We are seeking a skilled Luganda Language Expert to contribute to the training and improvement of artificial intelligence models. In this contract role, you will work directly with AI development teams to generate, evaluate, and refine Luganda language data used in natural language processing (NLP) systems.
Responsibilities include creating high-quality written content in Luganda, reviewing AI-generated text for linguistic accuracy, fluency, and cultural relevance, and providing detailed feedback on grammar, syntax, semantics, and tone. You will also assist in building datasets for machine learning models, annotate text for specific linguistic features (such as parts of speech, named entities, or sentiment), and help identify and mitigate biases in AI outputs. Additional tasks may include transcribing audio, localizing content for regional variations, and participating in quality assurance cycles to ensure model outputs align with native speaker expectations.
This position requires a deep understanding of Luganda linguistics including its noun class system and tonal distinctions. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented linguists who understand how language data shapes AI behavior.
Training may be provided on specific annotation platforms and AI guidelines. This is a remote, contract-based role with flexible scheduling.
